Christmas light displays and tree lightings near Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga (2026 guide)

We only list places we could confirm on a city page or a news page we opened. Dates are labeled by the year the source gave. That means this list is shorter than most.

Dates and addresses change every year. Check the organizer's page before you go. Most 2026 schedules are not posted yet as of October 13, 2026.

We confirmed 9 listings in 7 places from pages we opened. Two cities, Fontana and Montclair, have already posted December 2026 dates. The rest are listed with their 2024 or 2025 dates so you can see the usual pattern. We left out well-known places we could not verify, such as the Victoria Gardens tree lighting and Upland's downtown tree lighting. We could not open a current page for them.

Confirmed for 2026

These two cities have posted 2026 dates on their own websites. The list is a snapshot from October 13, 2026. The city can change it.

Source for Fontana: the City of Fontana holiday events page (check it before you go, because the city can change dates). Source for Montclair: the City of Montclair Holly Jolly Holiday page. Waivers will need to be signed for all snow and sock rink activities on the day of the event, per Montclair.

Rancho Cucamonga: Thoroughbred and Jennet Streets (2025 season)

This is the neighborhood display most people mean when they say Rancho Cucamonga Christmas lights. The City of Rancho Cucamonga posted a page for it on November 13, 2025. The page covers the 2025 season only and has no 2026 dates yet.

If you plan to visit in 2026, look for an updated page on the City of Rancho Cucamonga website. The restrictions in 2025 were set by a police resolution, and those can change from year to year.

Ontario: Holiday Light Parade and Tree Lighting (2025)

The City of Ontario announced its 2025 Holiday Light Parade and Tree Lighting in a release dated November 19 (the page shows no year, and the event date is in 2025).

We could not open a 2026 announcement from Ontario, so we have no 2026 date to give.

Claremont: Holiday Promenade and Tree Lighting (2025)

This was the 2025 season. The city of Claremont lists an event in Claremont Village on Friday, December 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The tree lighting was at 6:00 p.m.

Note: we do not install holiday lights in Claremont. See the list of cities on our holiday lights page. This section is only about the event.

Chino: Santa's Workshop and Tree Lighting (2024)

The county 4th District calendar listed Santa's Workshop and the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony for Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. on the Chino City Hall lawn, 13220 Central Avenue. The tree lighting was at 6:00 p.m.

Listed activities: photos with Santa, Christmas carolers, cookie decorating, letters to Santa and a craft corner. We could not find a 2025 or 2026 listing, so this one is the least current on the page.

Pomona (Fairplex): Imaginarium "Holiday Magic" (2024 season)

This is a paid, ticketed light event, not a free neighborhood display. A local newspaper article described Imaginarium "Holiday Magic" at Fairplex as running through Sunday, Jan. 5. The article does not give the year, and January 5 was a Sunday in 2025.

We could not find 2025 or 2026 dates on the event's own site. If you want to go, confirm that the show returns and what it costs before you buy tickets.

What we could not verify

Many sites list more places. We only included what we could open and read. These are the gaps:

  • Victoria Gardens (Rancho Cucamonga): the venue's events page showed only a Halloween event as of October 13, 2026. A 2024 tree lighting listing was blocked when we tried to open it, so we do not list a date.
  • Upland: we saw a search result for a 2025 downtown tree lighting, but could not open the page, so we left it out.
  • Chino Hills and Corona: we could not open a current page with dates.
  • Neighborhood lists on blogs and calendar sites mention other streets. We did not repeat any we could not check against a city or news source.

Tips for visiting (general advice, not from a source)

  • Go on a weeknight if you can. Weekends and the last week before Christmas are usually the most crowded.
  • Follow the posted rules for the street. Keep your headlights low, drive slowly and do not stop in the road.
  • Be quiet and do not block driveways. Residents live there.
  • Do not walk onto lawns or touch displays.
  • Bring a jacket. Evenings in the Inland Empire in December can be cold once the sun is down.

Want your own house lit?

We do not run a public display. We are a local home-services company that installs Christmas lights on single-story rooflines. We use clips on the gutter line and a ladder from the ground, lights included. Install weeks this year run mid-November to mid-December, and prices start at $450. See holiday lights for a price in a minute, or read what installation costs.

Common questions

Where can I see Christmas lights in Rancho Cucamonga?

The city's page for the Thoroughbred and Jennet Streets area is the best verified source. In 2025 it was drive-thru only from December 5 to 24, 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. The city had not posted 2026 dates when we checked.

Is there a tree lighting near Ontario in 2026?

We could not find a posted 2026 date for Ontario. Fontana and Montclair have both posted Thursday, December 3, 2026, tree lightings on their city websites.

Are the Thoroughbred Street lights run by the city?

No. The city says the displays are resident-led and not city-sponsored or city-sanctioned, and that it cannot cancel or regulate them.

Can I walk the Thoroughbred Street display?

Not during the 2025 drive-thru hours. The city said the public could not walk the display from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m. on the drive-thru dates. Check the current rules before you go.

Do you have a display I can visit?

No. We install lights on customers' homes and have no public display.

Do dates change each year?

Yes. Most of the events above have only 2024 or 2025 dates on their pages, and the 2026 dates are not posted yet. Check the organizer's page before you go.
